Early Life and Education

Elon Musk was born on June 28th, 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. He displayed a fascination for science and technology at a young age and developed a passion for computers and programming.

He attended the University of Pretoria before moving to Canada in 1989. He continued his education at Queen's University, then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained bachelor's degrees in physics and economics.

Founding Zip2

After graduating, Musk moved to Silicon Valley and founded Zip2, a company specializing in online business directories for newspapers. In 1999, Compaq acquired Zip2 for $307 million.
