Plane crash in Brazil kills 62
All onboard killed in crash outside São Paulo
A passenger plane carrying 62 people crashed on Friday outside São Paulo, Brazil, killing all onboard. The plane, operated by regional carrier Voepass, was bound for São Paulo's international airport when it crashed in the city of Vinhedo, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the city center.
There were no survivors
According to Voepass, the plane was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members. All of the passengers and crew are believed to have died in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but authorities are looking into whether bad weather may have been a factor. The plane crashed during a heavy rainstorm, and there were reports of lightning in the area at the time of the crash.
The crash is the deadliest aviation accident in Brazil since 2007, when a TAM Airlines flight crashed in São Paulo, killing 199 people.
