Florida Panthers Prospects Named to 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship Rosters
Prospects to Represent Canada and United States
Two Florida Panthers prospects have been named to the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship rosters. Forward Matthew Tkachuk will represent Canada, while defenseman Owen Power will play for the United States.
Tkachuk, the son of former NHL star Keith Tkachuk, is a highly skilled forward who was selected sixth overall by the Panthers in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He has been a key contributor to the Panthers' AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, this season, recording 10 goals and 15 assists in 28 games.
Power, the first overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, is a dynamic defenseman who has quickly established himself as one of the top prospects in the NHL. He has played 21 games for the Panthers this season, recording two goals and six assists.
The 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia from December 26th to January 5th. Canada and the United States are two of the favorites to win the tournament.
