Severe Weather Expected in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska
Alert Day Issued for Friday
Parts of the Midwest to be Impacted
According to the weather service, parts of eastern Nebraska, western and central Iowa, eastern Kansas, and northwest Missouri are at risk of severe weather. The National Weather Service has issued an Alert Day for Kansas City and surrounding areas, as the risk for severe weather has increased. In fact, the five counties of Clay, Jackson, Platte, Johnson, and Wyandotte in Missouri have been placed under a severe weather watch.
The weather service warns that there is also a slight risk of severe weather in the Kansas City area. Strong winds, hail, and heavy rain are possible, and the public is advised to stay informed and take precautions. The weather service recommends that people remain indoors during the storm and be prepared for power outages or other emergencies.
